I came across this fabulous slide show on the Ethical Status of Artificial Agents. It gives a good overview of common terms found in technoethics that are pertinent to the field of roboethics. This is apparently an extended version of a talk given as part of ETHICBOTS project from 2006.

University of Twende hosted a conference on Society for Philosophy and Technology earlier this year (July 7-10, 2009), and this event has been advertised through the www.roboethics.org website despite the web’s under-construction status.

During my flight to British Columbia to visit UBC’s robotics lab, I met a PhD student from Queen’s University. As an enthusiast of the Roboethics field, I couldn’t help but bring up the topic.
